The shortest AI prompt... maybe ever

In this week's issue: 2025 was all about finding hidden gold in exhaustive AI prompts. But most of those prompts resembled the self-help magazine articles they were supposedly replacing. This week, I give you my favorite business prompt. Its maybe the shortest prompt known to mankind... and it starts with just three letters.

Hi Reader:

Although I'm generally not a fan of AI prompts substituting as blog posts, I do have a fantastic, favorite prompt I use...a lot. It started as a business prompt, but now sometimes it even informs my weekend activities.

Unlike most "the only prompt you ever need" posts, this one is short. Like super short. It starts with just three letters.

If you need a go-to prompt to help you make better business decisions, keep reading. This is the issue for you.

PS Speaking season is already starting to jump into high gear. Local folks, I'll be talking AI at the upcoming NAWBO meeting (Jan. 21). Details in the next email. And I have another pending engagement with client name still under wraps... but let's just say it's at a bucket-list venue.

PPS A few people have asked me about my Notion planning setup (where I keep my entire strategic plan AND upload it to AI for feedback.) Read on for a new training service where I teach you how to keep track of your business strategy.

The PCR Prompt: The Shortest (and Most Useful) AI Prompt

If you’ve been following AI trends, you’ve probably noticed the rise of the “only prompt you’ll ever need” posts. Unfortunately, these prompts often read like doctoral dissertations. A 20-page treatise on becoming a “better you”? No thank you.

When it comes to AI, I'm definitely a less-is-more fan. The best prompt I’ve ever used—the one I return to again and again when making real business decisions—starts with just three letters: PCR. (Pros, Cons, & Recs)

Read on to see how this prompt can help you with navigate tough biz decisions.

What I'm Reading

Gmail Gets the Gemini Treatment (But I'm Not Ready): Google officially announced Gemini AI can now directly integrate into your Gmail to summarize, draft, and "understand" your inbox. On paper, this sounds useful until you realize Google's already tracking which ads you see based on your email content. Have I used it? No. Adding AI analysis to Gmail feels a lot like permission to mine my personal info even deeper. Privacy policy or not, there's a difference between what companies say they won't do and what they can do. [Google Blog]

Will Porn Save AI?: Worried about an AI bubble? The one AI sector that is booming: erotic chatbots. Joi and EverAI are already printing money while enterprise AI barely saves humans 1 hour/day. The (unsurprising) kicker: Female founders building sex-tech struggle to get respect, but OpenAI opened adult content with barely a whisper. [WIRED]

Are These the Jobs That Will Be *Replaced?*: LinkedIn's 2026 fastest-growing roles include a whole lot of AI: AI engineer, AI consultant, AI researcher—and data annotators. Nothing says "sustainable employment" like hiring humans to label data for the AI that's going to "eliminate" the need for humans. Bonus: More professionals are just becoming founders because they've stopped trusting the job ladder. Double Bonus: Travel advisors are also booming, because apparently no AI should be trusted to book your vacation. [LinkedIn]

The Strategy OS

Is your strategic plan hiding in a drawer? Non-existent? You're not alone but this could be a very expensive habit.

The National Center for the Middle Market found that one third of middle market businesses have no strategy at all. But those that do, grow 26 percent faster than their rudderless counterparts.

I've introduced Strategy OS, a high-intensity, one-on-one training that gives you the digital infrastructure to turn your “Big Ideas” into “Market Value.”

Using my proprietary Simple Strategic Plan framework (a Notion template), we will build a centralized command center that tracks alignment, closes value leaks, and keeps your team in motion.

No tech-talk. Just a living system for strategic momentum.
